St. Simon’s Island: Eat, Drink and Party Island-Style

Estimated read time 1 min read

This barbecue restaurant has made St. Simons famous for its cuisine, garnering praise from publications like Garden and Gun and Southern Living as well as appearances on TV shows like “BBQ Pitmasters” on TLC and “Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives” on the Food Network. Owners Giffin Bufkin and Harrison Sapp continue to prepare delicious food the same way they always have: slowly, steadily, and in true southern style. They bottle their own sauces, make their own rubs daily from scratch, and cook outdoors in a pit using only wood. The Brunswick stew, homemade pimento cheese, and smoked chicken salad are not to be disregarded, nor are the pulled pork and sweet ribs coated in brown sugar and tupelo honey. Three and meat? Yes, please.
